The fascinating thing for me about gridshell structures is the aspect of experimentation in terms of form, material, construction and designprocess. It is an opportunity to examine materials and to find out about their qualities and use them in another way one used to. One example is Shigeru Bans Expo Pavilion and the usage of paperrolls.
